How to Add Subusers Print

Subusers allow you to give other people access to your server without sharing your main account. This is useful for friends, developers, or staff who need limited access to manage the server.

This guide will show you how to add a subuser and configure their permissions.

Step 1: Navigate to Subusers

1. Log into your HostByte Game Panel
2. Select your server
3. In the left sidebar, go to Management → Subusers
4. Click Add User

Step 2: Enter Subuser Email

1. In the Email field, enter the email address of the user you want to add
2. Make sure the email is correct, as this is how they will access the server

Step 3: Configure Permissions

You can choose what access the subuser will have:

• All Permissions - Gives full access to the server (same as owner)
• Console - View logs and console output
• Run Commands - Send commands to the server
• Start / Stop - Control server power state
• File Access - Access and edit files
• Backups - Manage server backups

➡️ Tip: Only give the permissions that are needed instead of enabling everything.

Step 4: Add the Subuser

1. After selecting permissions, click Add User
2. The user will now be added to your server
3. They can log in using their own account to access the server

⚠️ Important Warning

• Only add people you trust - Subusers can control parts of your server
• Full permissions = full control - They can start, stop, edit, or break things
• Be careful with file and console access - These allow major changes
• Remove access if needed - You can delete subusers at any time

Troubleshooting

Subuser Not Receiving Access

• Check Email - Ensure the correct email was entered
• Account Required - The user must have a HostByte account
• Ask Them to Log In - They may need to log in to see the server

Permissions Not Working

• Check Permissions - Ensure the correct permissions were selected
• Re-add User - Remove and add them again if needed
• Reload Panel - Refresh the panel to update access
