Wiping your Minecraft server will completely reset your world and remove all existing data. This is useful if you want to start fresh. This guide shows you how to safely wipe your server using the HostByte Game Panel.

Important Warning
⚠️ Warning: This process will permanently delete your world and cannot be undone unless you have a backup.
Step 1: Create a Backup
Before wiping your server, always create a backup.
- Go to the Backups section in your panel
- Create a new backup
- Wait for it to complete

Step 2: Stop Your Server
- Go to your Game Panel
- Click Stop
- Wait until the server is fully offline
Step 3: Delete Your World Files
You will now remove your existing world files.
- Open the File Manager:

Default servers usually only have:
world
Servers running Paper, Spigot, or similar may also have:
world
world_nether
world_the_end
- Delete the world folder (and any additional world folders if present)
Step 4: Start Your Server
- Return to your Game Panel
- Click Start
- The server will generate a brand new world automatically
Optional: Full Server Reset
If you want a completely fresh setup, you can also delete:
- plugins/ (for plugin servers)
- mods/ (for modded servers)
- Configuration files
Note: Only do this if you want a full reset of your server setup.
Troubleshooting
- World did not reset – Ensure all world folders were deleted
- Server fails to start – Check console for errors
- Old world still loading – Confirm correct folder names were removed
